Twas The Night Before Christmas...

...When all through the house not a creature was stirring not even a mouse
How lovely are these vintage Christmas cards? They could actually work as decorations really. On my Christmas tree we have loads of different things and the best part is: they don't actually match. My Christmas tree is a rainbow of madness but that rainbow is extremely Christmassy.
We have; Baubles, Books, Candy Cane, Elves, Robins, Holly, Stars, Fruit, Coins, Snowmen and basically a whole heap of vintage tat that has been collected over the years from family and friends castoffs. It's not that we cant buy our own things its just that we don't see the point. Because really what is the point in buying new Christmas decorations every year or at least every few?
I don't get the people who have different themes for each year. Does it really matter if the baubles are red and gold and the crimson ribbons are tied neatly to ONLY the top of the tree? Is that really what Christmas has come down to? Decorations? God I hope not because if that's the case than my family are completely screwed.
Surely the spirit of Christmas should not be " which house is going to have the best luminous Christmas display" and "whose going to light their roof?" but really "for once lets all just get along and share in the Christmas spirit of giving instead of competing!"
Plus if we are all being honest people who decorate their lawns are tacky and in no way is a giant flashing Rudolph at all festive, how will Santa even get down the chimney if a life size blow up figure is cheerily already blocking it? Lets not even start on the fire hazards of such a thing!
So my message is enjoy Christmas but please please enjoy it in the least headache nausea attached way possible. For the sake of all those who actually want to enjoy this holiday because its the season to be jolly etc and not because we want to show off our bank balance with the whole nativity spread on our lawns. Because that is just blergh!
Haha on that happy note MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE xxx

Santa have some wine...

Well Christmas cheer is once again upon us and like many many people I am hoping that I have been a good enough soul to earn some lovely gifts this year. Dear Santa, preferably these are the magical things i would like. They'd make my life so much easier... honest!

The lovely Rose Hook and Eye dress from the yummy TOPSHOP- I love and live for all things floral.
This cosy gorgeous cardigan from Urban Outfitters although I think it would look cooler with gold buttons maybe? Or would that not work. Who am I to know? I have no eye for fashion.

1) This slouchy bag would definitely perfect my "trying to look nonchalant but secretly LOVE this bag with a fiery passion" look 2) I have wanted some military style boots for ages, well ever since Company (or was it Glamour?) told me that they would look G-reaat with a girly dress. 3) Always wanted a clock necklace, anyone remember that white rabbit? Love Alice in Wonderland. 4) The Bow headband-perfection for my head, I'm getting really into these at the moment. 5) How cool do these tights look? Tres cool with extra bits. I NEED them, yes that's right.
Finally I have wanted some new eye makeup for a while and this caught my eye in Boots, needless to say soon it will be mine!

MERRY CHRISTMAS PEOPLE - Hope Santa brings you everything you want and more!

You Will. You? Will. You? Will. You? Will

I love fashion photos, I love how they do actually tell a story. Almost like a fairytale. The Poor girl with big dreams.
Fashion photos show that fashion is in fact art. I'm not a huge follower of fashion. Don't get me wrong I like to make an effort but again the stuff in my wardrobe is hardly "in". I follow a lot of fashion blogs because they are interesting and, like I said, a form of art. It's amazing seeing an outfit that someone has created.

I wish I knew how to put clothes together and know that they just worked. I would never dream to put a girly short dress with huge heavy biker boots but it works! It looks good, it looks arty.
In fashion photos it's not just the clothing that could legitimately stand in an art gallery, it's the set. Fashion photographers must put so much thought, not only into the position of their models but also the location. For example the photo of the girl in the billowing blue dress in a run down flat makes the product stand out. It's beauty in the most unlikely place. Yet somehow the dress makes this meager location somehow look fairey-Esq. The spiral staircase with the subtle patterns makes this building seem greater than it is. It gives it an edge, makes it appear like it has a history. It complements this designers piece as if they had used this derelict room as inspiration.
The craziness of fashion photos also add to the complete arty vibe. I could imagine seeing any one of these pictures in an art gallery. They are just as much works of art as any other photo or paining. The designer of the clothes, the set designers and the photographer have all worked just as hard as any other artist. They have successfully made their finished piece one that catches the imagination, that makes the intended audience want to buy the clothes. If that isn't art then what is?
Fashion photography is art in my opinion, sure I'm not really that bothered about the clothes featured though yeah I would quite like wear some of the dresses featured in vogue but there is something more. When you look at all the vogue cover spreads and the fashion photography inside it's like each piece does tell a story and story's can be appreciated by everyone whether they have that keen eye for fashion or not.

Moon River Wider Than A Mile, I'm Crossing You In Style Someday...
Absolutely 100% in love with Audrey Hepburn's style. Although I stay firmly by my opinion of there is no need to be that perfect. She was beautiful, she could act and she could sing. She also had oodles of style.
Oh Dream Maker, You Heart Breaker, Wherever You're Going I'm Going You're Way
I'm Loving:
Audrey Hepburn Films, Cold Winter nights and ice frosted mornings, Big Coats, Bigger Boots, Decadence, Poetry and Songs with memories.
Two Drifters Off To See The World,There's Such A Lot Of World To See
I've been Christmas shopping, there is nothing like Christmas shopping to get you into the mood for some holiday cheer. I love the picking of the gift, the buying and then the best bit THE WRAPPING! But seriously I didn't know so much could go wrong wrapping up a simple present. I nearly ended up wrapping myself!
We're After The Same Rainbows End, Waiting Round The Bend, My Huckleberry Friend
Moon River And Me.
Can't Wait till it begins to snow, ohhh I hope it does snow. I really want to make my legendary Snow Duck and (even though I am 17) give into childhood fun and make snow angels as well!
